Foreign media: US says it has started talks with India to implement Russian oil price cap mechanism
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. officials said on Tuesday that talks with big oil-consuming nations including India have begun on agreeing and implementing price caps for Russian oil exports, and talks with smaller oil-consuming nations in Africa and Latin America will follow soon start.
"We have already started negotiations with India on how to implement the price cap and what the impact will be," said Jack Sullivan, the National Security Adviser to the US President, according to the report.
Negotiations with global energy companies on price caps will also begin soon, a senior U.S. official told Reuters.
